World Golf Championship - HSBC Champions
Rory McIlroy completed a hat-trick of World Golf Championships wins as he overcame Xander Schauffele in a play-off in Shanghai.
The Northern Irishman saw his American playing partner birdie the 18th hole in regulation to wipe out his one-shot lead, but turned the tables with a gain of his own when they returned to the last in a play-off after both finished the week 19 under par.
McIlroy’s win was his fourth worldwide this season and sees him join only Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods as players to have won three of the four World Golf Championships events, following his victories at the Invitational in 2014 and the Match Play the following season.

Sunshine Tour - Vodacom Origins Final
George Coetzee walked away with his 10th Sunshine Tour title after dominant week in which he finished 20-under-par to claim a three-stroke victory at Simola Golf and Country Club jumping 31 spots top World No. 180.
He took a three-shot lead into the final round following scores of 61 and 69 in rounds one and two and got straight into business on the last day. Two birdies in his first two holes settled him a bit as MJ Viljoen was making his own charge for the top spot. Coetzee made further gains on the fifth and ninth holes to turn in 32 and bogey-free.
He made two more birdies on the homeward stretch to sign for a blemish-free six-under 66 and ensure a three-shot victory for himself, despite Viljoen’s gallant effort.
“I had a couple of goals I wanted to achieve this year and going wire-to-wire was one of them,” Coetzee revealed, “I wasn’t going to say it. But I don’t think I’ve gone wire-to-wire in my career and it was one of my goals at the start of the year and I’m happy to have done it just before the end of the year.”
PGA Tour - Bermuda Championship
Brendon Todd ran away with the Bermuda Championship on Sunday for his second PGA TOUR title, shooting a 9-under 62 after flirting with a sub-60 round at calm Port Royal Golf Club. The win takes Todd back into the Top 200 at World No.185.
Needing to birdie the final two holes to shoot 59, Todd missed a 20-foot birdie try on the par-5 17th and closed with a bogey after taking three shots to reach the green on the par-4 18th. He finished at 24-under 260 for a four-stroke victory over Harry Higgs in the first-year event.
Two strokes behind Higgs entering the final round, Todd opened with a par, then birdied the next seven. The 34-year-old former University of Georgia player also birdied Nos. 10, 11 and 15.
Two months after regaining his TOUR card in the Korn Ferry Tour Finals, Todd earned a two-year exemption, $540,000 and entry into several high-profile events, including THE PLAYERS Championship. He won the 2014 AT&T Byron Nelson for first PGA TOUR title.
EuroPro Tour - Tour Championship
Mikael Lundberg has won the PGA EuroPro Tour Championships 2019 at Desert Springs after going through a playoff against James Allan three times.
Lundberg (Lumine Golf Club) clinched the Order of Merit title with victory in his first season on the Tour. The Swede signed for rounds of 64, 73 and 69 to force a playoff after leading after the opening day.
In a day where the lead swung, James Allan seized an early advantage through nine holes before being pegged back midway through the afternoon after getting in trouble on eleven.
Meanwhile, Lundberg was level through the front nine to trail by a few before picking up vital birdies on 15 and 16 to drag out a two-shot lead Allan who was a group back.
Allan (Chelmsford Golf Club) showed resilience throughout after going into the day leading. He knew he had to birdie 17 and 18 to force a playoff and that’s exactly what he achieved.
The playoff took place on the last with both Allan and Lundberg going toe to toe over the first two times before the third. In the third, Lundberg found the bunker on the green but played an exquisite shot to leave himself a few feet. Allan missed opening the door for the former European Tour winner to seal the win.
PGA Tour LatinoAmerica - Termas de Rio Hondo Invitational
Alejandro Tosti fired a final-round, 8-under 64 to storm from behind and win the inaugural Termas de Rio Hondo Invitational by a shot over Spain’s Mario Beltran and American Justin Suh.
Tosti, who opened with consistent rounds of 68-69-68 was four shots behind 54-hole leader Camilo Aguado when the day began. The former University of Florida golfer began carving into Aguado’s advantage early, as he made birdies on the second, third, fifth and sixth holes. Another birdie at No. 8 allowed him to make the turn in 5-under. Tosti felt he could have been even lower, especially after he was on the green in two at the par-5 ninth. However, a three-putt par kept him where he was.
“I was able to let that go and keep the momentum going,” Tosti said of that disappointment.
He added three more birdies on the back nine before a bogey at the par-3 17th slowed him. It looked like it might be a critical mistake, but he righted things a hole later with a birdie at the closing hole. Tosti’s second-shot approach on the par-5 landed in a bunker. He had 30 yards to spot on the green where he wanted to land his ball.
“That’s what I did. It landed perfectly and almost went in the hole. It was an awesome feeling to just tap in on the last hole,” he said of his closing birdie. Tosti then sat back and watched as his 19-under score held up.
MENA Golf Tour - The Ras Al Khaimah Open by Arena
Sweden’s Niclas Weiland, in his first season as a professional, made the most of his invite from the MENA Tour by Arena to win the Ras Al Khaimah Open after making an eagle on the first play-off hole against close friend and roommate Gabriel Axell on Wednesday.
At Tower Links Golf Club, the 24-year-old Weiland was solid throughout the round playing in the leadergroup for a five-under par 67, which helped him match the 17-under par 199 clubhouse lead set by Axell after a storming final-round of eight-under par 64.
Two European Challenge Tour stars, Scotland’s Scott Henry (70) and Switzerland’s Marco Iten (69) were tied for the third place at 15-under par 201.
England’s 20-year-old Ben Jones was the Leading Amateur at eight-under par, while Saudi Arabia’s Othman Almulla continued his fine work from last evening (three birdies in last three holes to make his first cut as a professional) to shoot the lowest round of his career – a seven-under par 65 – and finished as the highest placed MENA player at 207.
In the beginning, it looked like a romp for Henry, who was five-under par through 10 holes and leading by four shots at that point. But just like the second round, the 32-year-old Scotsman faltered on the back nine and three bogeys coming in killed his chances.
Weiland was two-under par through 12 holes, but the big swing came his way when he birdied the par-5 13th and the par-4 14th holes, while Henry parred the 13th and dropped shots on the 14th and 15th holes.
