Jon Rahm put on a stunning display to win the 2022 acciona Open de España presented by Madrid and delight the fans who had turned out to watch him match the great Seve Ballesteros.
Like Ballesteros, Rahm is now a three-time winner of his national Open after striding clear of his rivals with a nine-under-par 62 in his final round at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. Rahm's fireworks took him to 25 under, with Matthieu Pavon next best on 19 under after a 65 and Min Woo Lee a further shot back after closing with a 68.
Lee was a shot behind overnight and said he hoped the fans would be treated to a show but Rahm made sure the rest of the field was little more than a supporting cast.
There was little Lee could do and it was all but over when they walked off the 14th. Rahm almost managed an albatross, only the pace of the ball kept it from dropping when his second shot, from the rough more than 200 yards away, hammered into the bottom of the pin and skidded off. But an eagle and Lee's bogey meant the gap was six shots with four holes to play.
Two birdies in his final three holes took Pavon above Lee but it was all about Rahm and he finished with a flourish, birdies at 17 and 18 adding the gloss to his eighth DP World Tour victory.

PGA Tour - Shriners Children's Open
Field Rating - 248.26686
Tom Kim wins Shriners Children's Open for second PGA TOUR victory. Tom Kim closed with a 5-under 67 and completed a bogey-free week in Las Vegas to win the Shriners Children's Open when Patrick Cantlay fell apart on the final hole Sunday.
Kim became the first player since Tiger Woods in 1996 to win twice on the PGA TOUR before turning 21. The 20-year-old South Korean won the Wyndham Championship in August to make the FedExCup Playoffs and he's been soaring ever since.
“I'm having fun playing on the PGA TOUR. It's awesome,” Kim said.
But he needed some help from Cantlay, who could have gone to No. 2 in the world with a win at the TPC Summerlin. Kim became the first player since J.T. Poston at the 2019 Wyndham Championship to win a PGA TOUR event without making a bogey. The way the back nine was going, no one could afford to drop any shots.
“I played solid this week — no bogey for 72 holes,” Kim said. “I got very lucky on the 18th, I'm not going to lie. Patrick played awesome, and to come out with a win I feel fortunate.”

Sunshine Tour - Fortress Invitational
Field Rating - 13.32849
Pieter Moolman claimed his maiden victory on the Sunshine Tour when he beat Jayden Schaper in a playoff to win the inaugural Fortress Invitational at Ebotse Links on Sunday.
Moolman started the final round with three shots behind Schaper. As he reached the final hole in regulation play, he was three-under for his round, having mixed five birdies with two bogeys, and looked like falling just short on 12-under-par as Schaper was already on 14-under-par.
But the 31-year-old Moolman hit an excellent drive and a superb approach shot on the par-five 18th to 10 feet from the hole and nailed the eagle putt to vault to 14-under.
Schaper then bogeyed the par-four 17th but made birdie at the last to force a playoff with an excellent up-and-down after short-siding himself.
Moolman again hit a brilliant second in the playoff, finishing just off the green after being in the semi-rough on a mound. He would chip and sink a four-foot putt for birdie, while Schaper was unfortunate that his approach shot took a hard first bounce and ran through the green. The 21-year-old then missed his 10-footer for birdie, handing Moolman the win.
“I’ve lost a few times in these situations, but I’ve played better golf a few times than I did today,” Moolman said. “So to get over the line is really special and it shows that it does not take a perfect performance to win. It’s more mental, about believing you can still put a score on the board if you’re playing average golf, when your swing is not really there. I just had to stay in the moment and commit to what I was doing, take it shot-for-shot.”

Professional Golf Tour of India - Players Championship presented by American Express hosted by Govt of Haryana & Panchkula Golf Club
Field Rating - 3.53243
Tricity golfer Yuvraj Singh Sandhu, who hails from neighbouring Chandigarh, continued his hot streak by securing his fourth win of the season at the TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship 2022 presented by American Express hosted by Govt. of Haryana & Panchkula Golf Club. Yuvraj (68-68-65-68) carded 4-under 68 in round four to finish on top with an overall score of 19-under 269 to bag his seventh professional title. Yuvraj took home the winner’s cheque worth Rs. 7,50,000 to move up from third to second position in the PGTI Order of Merit.
Yuvraj Singh Sandhu who started the day in second position, one shot off the lead, was steady with two birdies and all pars till the turn that helped him emerge as the leader. The 25-year-old Yuvraj picked up the pace with birdies on the 11th and 12th before dropping a shot on the 13th even as Ajeetesh Sandhu made a charge to move in within one shot of the lead after 14 holes.
Yuvraj however reserved his best for the last with a tough downhill 10-feet birdie conversion on the 15th and a couple of tricky chip-putts for brilliant pars on the 17th and 18th to close out the match after Ajeetesh had mounted pressure with another birdie on the 17th.
Yuvraj converted from 10 to 15 feet putts on the last two holes and got out of trouble on the 18th with a good chip from the bunker wall where he had a tough lie. Sandhu has now triumphed twice in the Tricity in 2022 having won events in both Chandigarh and Panchkula. He has also narrowed down the gap between himself and the Order of Merit leader Ajeetesh, as the latter now leads the merit list with a margin of less than Rs. 2 lakh.

Japan Golf Tour - For The Players By The Players
Field Rating - 24.87253
Justin De Los Santos of the Philippines registered a career-best result on the JGTO on Sunday after a final round of nine points help him finish outright third at For The Players by The Players in Gunma.
The Los Angeles-based golfer, whose previous best finish was a solo fourth at The Gateway to The Open Mizuno Open in May, ended his week with a total of 32 points, nine behind winner Shintaro Kobayashi in the inaugural tournament contested over a Stableford format.
Players receive eight points for albatross, five for eagle and two for birdie. A point is deducted for a bogey and three are taken away for a double bogey or worse.
De Los Santos chalked up five birdies, including two in his final four holes, to offset a bogey at The Raysum to finish three rungs higher where he was at the start of the day.
Having claimed his fourth top-10 finish of the season, the Filipino believes it has helped him to secure full status for next season by moving up to 24th in the Money Rankings.
"I kind of like had it going earlier today but eventually lost my driver a little bit and didn't give myself too many chances for birdie on the back nine," said the 27-year-old, who's competing on a limited status from last year's Qualifying Tournament.
"I wished I could have given a better run at it. But all in all, it's been a good week and I'm pleased with it.
"It's always good to finish in the top five and it's cool that I managed to got to do it in a tournament that focuses on the players.
"It's actually an important week for me. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I'll get into the Heiwa PGM Championships (in two weeks' time, limited to just 96 players) and the remaining tournaments of the season, as well as having my full status sorted for next season."

Nordic Golf League - Race to HimmerLand by FREJA
Field Rating - 5.16809
Five birdies in a row on the back nine ensured John Axelsen won the Race to HimmerLand. The Dane started three shots behind the leader Charlie Lindh, but on the course's last nine holes John turned it all upside down and closed the field.
John Axelsen managed to get through the windy Himmerland weather with just a single bogey on the card. It came on hole 2, but he hit back with a birdie on the following hole. Birdie number two followed on hole 5, and then he recorded five straight pars before the birdie party started.
On hole 11 he hit it close and holed for birdie, and he did the same on the following four holes. In doing so, John secured five birdies in a row before finishing with three pars on holes 16, 17 and 18. The winning score was 7 under par, and John's final round was a fantastic six under.

Challenge Tour - British Challenge presented by Modest! Golf Management
Field Rating - 28.99570
Walker produces a grandstand finish to win in Cornwall. Euan Walker birdied his final two holes at the British Challenge presented by Modest! Golf Management to secure his maiden European Challenge Tour title at St. Mellion.
The Scotsman entered the final round three shots off the lead but after posting a closing one under par round of 71 he reached eight under par to triumph in England, with South African JC Ritchie finishing second on seven under par.
The 27-year-old was delighted to secure a first Challenge Tour title in front of his parents, who had made the journey down from Scotland to support him this week.
“It feels absolutely amazing,” he said. “To win this week far exceeds any expectations. At the start of the season things weren’t going that well but over the last few months I have started to turn things around.
“My mum and dad were here today which was absolutely brilliant. They like to come to the British events and I’m glad they were here to see this. I’ve had my dad caddie for me before and I haven’t played very well so I just wanted him to see me perform today. It reminds me of my friend Emilio Cuartero Blanco who won in Sweden earlier this year because he had his family there just by chance.”

Big Easy Tour - Altron Big Easy Tour Play Off
Field Rating - 1.08654
Gerhard Pepler claimed a come-from-behind victory in the Altron Big Easy Tour Play-Off tournament, thanks to his final round of five-under 67 at Centurion Country Club on Thursday.
That final round got Pepler’s tournament total to 10-under, a stroke clear of second-placed Jonathan Waschefort.
“I started off well and made an eagle on the first hole,” said Pepler, recalling the events of his final round. “As the round went on, I kind of went defensive a bit. Then on the second nine, I went back to my game plan. After hole 14, I started looking at the leaderboard so that I knew exactly what to do on the next hole and what tee shots to hit.”
Pepler, who was a shot adrift coming into the final round of this Play-Off event, was two-under on the front nine. After his eagle on one, he had two bogeys – on three and six – before birdies on the seventh and ninth graced his scorecard.
