Jon Rahm returns to World Number One with a win at The Genesis Invitational claiming his third win of season on the PGA Tour
News for the 6 Eligible Official World Golf Ranking Tournaments
PGA Tour - The Genesis Invitational
Jon Rahm returned to No. 1 in the world on Sunday by winning The Genesis Invitational with a performance that left no doubt who's playing the best golf. The last time Rahm was World Number One was back in March 2022 where Scottie Scheffler claimed the title for the first time from Rahm after his win at the WGC - Dell Technologies Match Play.
Caught in a battle with hometown favourite Max Homa at Riviera, Rahm delivered two big moments with a 45-foot birdie putt from the fringe on the par-3 14th and then a tee shot to 2 feet for birdie on the par-3 16th.
He closed with a 2-under 69 for a two-shot win over Homa.
"Pretty incredible," Rahm said. "(To win) at a golf course with this legacy, this history and hosted by Tiger Woods, is such an honour."
Rahm now has five wins in his last nine starts worldwide, dating to his win in the Spanish Open. He has not finished out of the top 10 in his last 10 tournaments. It was his third win in five starts on the PGA TOUR this year, and he already has earned more than $9 million the last two months.

DP World Tour – Thailand Classic
Thorbjørn Olesen cruised to his seventh DP World Tour title as an exhibition of frontrunning saw him win the 2023 Thailand Classic by four shots. The Dane went into the final round with a two-shot lead before making birdies at the first, second and sixth to stretch his advantage early on.
Six successive pars in the middle of Olesen's round allowed his countryman and playing partner Nicolai Højgaard to close the gap to two strokes once more, but the 33-year-old responded with a hat-trick of birdies from the 13th to move five clear with three holes to play.
And he safely parred his way home to sign for a bogey-free 66 and finish the tournament on 24 under par. The win continues Olesen's fine record of converting 54-hole leads into victories, having now achieved the feat six times on the DP World Tour.
He said: "It's very special. Obviously the British Masters win was incredible, with my family, and it had been a long time since I won the last time.
"But equally this one, all the hard work and all the sacrifice from my wife. It's really nice."
Olesen was pleased with his performance on Sunday, adding: "It felt really good today, felt steady, I felt like I was in control and I just enjoyed playing golf today, which was very nice."

Asian Tour - International Series Qatar
American Andrew Ogletree became the first player to win two International Series events when he recorded a convincing victory today in the US$2.5 million International Series Qatar, at Doha Golf Club. Ogletree also moved into the Top 500 in the Official World Golf Rankings for the first time, ranked now 350th .
The impressive 24-year-old from Mississippi closed with a one-over-par 73 to finish on seven under and win by three shots from Thailand’s Gunn Charoenkul, who fired a 68, helped by an eagle on the par-five 18th. Thailand’s Suradit Yongcharoenchai finished one shot back in third following a 72, while his compatriot Phachara Khongwatmai returned a 67 to claim fourth, another stroke behind.
Ogletree, who won the International Series Egypt in November and has two wins in just nine starts on the Asian Tour, started the day with a five-shot lead and was never really challenged, when for the fourth day in a row strong wind were unrelenting.
“I think it just comes from all the work that I’ve put in,” said Ogletree, who won US$450,000.
“I’ve worked really hard this offseason post Egypt, and just have a lot of confidence because I work so hard. I don’t think anyone wants it more than me. I want to keep giving myself more opportunities and this is the route that I can do that. So, I’m really focused, and trying to win the Order of Merit out here is my number one goal this year, and that’s all I’m really focused on. And you got to win to do that, so this feels great.”
Ogletree moved to the top of the Asian Tour Order of Merit (OOM) and International Series OOM thanks to an outstanding start to the season. He finished ninth in the season-opening PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers and tied for seventh in last week’s International Series Oman.

PGA Tour of Australasia - TPS Sydney, Presented by Webex, Hosted by Braith Anasta
A red-hot putter compensated for a swing he described as “awful” as David Micheluzzi sent record keepers scrambling in claiming TPS Sydney by four strokes on Sunday.
The 26-year-old secured his second victory of the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia season in extraordinary fashion at Bonnie Doon Golf Club, playing the last 10 holes in nine-under 30 with just 12 putts in a round of 10-under 61.
His four-round total of 25-under par is the lowest 72-hole score in Australian golf since Kurt Barnes shot 29-under to win the 2004 Queensland PGA and has all but guaranteed one of three DP World Tour cards that will be handed out at season’s end.
And he did it all with a swing that felt foreign for the first eight holes of the final round.
“I didn’t feel it all with my swing today. It felt awful,” said Micheluzzi, who won the season-opening WA PGA Championship in Kalgoorlie.
“I just got a good feel on the last 10 or 11 holes. I hit a couple of good irons shots just with that feel and when the putts needed to drop, they dropped.
“It probably looked like I was playing good but internally I felt horrendous. I’m just happy shooting 61 really.
“I won a golf tournament too which with the Order of Merit and all that is pretty awesome. I’m just so stoked with how I played. It was awesome.”

Sunshine Tour/ Challenge Tour - SDC Open
Senekal enjoys wire-to-wire win in SDC Open. As JJ Senekal drove to the Zebula golf course for Sunday’s final round of the SDC Open, his new favourite playlist was on the car radio. The volume was turned up to 21. That’s when he decided to turn it up to 25, to match his desired target of 25 under par to win this tournament.
A few hours later, Senekal rolled in a birdie putt on the 18th to win this Sunshine Tour and European Challenge Tour tournament with a final round of 65 and by four strokes. On 25 under par.
“It was very emotional. I put a lot of hard work into this starting from the beginning of last year. It all comes down to hard work. This means the world to me. I was knocking for quite a while now and this week was a good example of staying patient, playing good golf and knowing what to do and when to do it,” Senekal said after his wire-to-wire victory.
Casey Jarvis took second place on 21 under par with a closing 67, and the young South African threw everything at Senekal during a thrilling back nine in which he chipped in for eagle on the 15th and then holed a huge birdie putt on 16 to close to within one shot of Senekal with two holes to play.
