DP World Tour & PGA Tour - Genesis Scottish Open

Rory McIlroy birdied the last two holes in whipping wind Sunday for a 2-under 68 to win the Genesis Scottish Open, his first victory on Scottish soil, and take a load of confidence into the final major of the year.

McIlroy was one shot behind Robert MacIntyre when he played the slope to near perfection on the par-3 17th for a 4-foot birdie putt to tie for the lead. Then, he delivered what McIlroy called his best shot of the year -- a 2-iron into the wind to 10 feet for a final birdie.

It was a heartbreaker for MacIntyre, who was trying to win his national open and delivered a class shot of his own. MacIntyre hammered a 3-wood from the rough on the 18th hole at The Renaissance Club to 4 feet, pumping both fists when it dropped for a 64.

It was a remarkable closing round given the wind that was rough and relentless off the Firth of Forth, and it looked for the longest time that it would give the 26-year-old MacIntyre the signature victory of his young career.

“That was such a tough day -- so tough,” McIlroy said. “To play that back nine in 4-under par to win the tournament, I'm really proud of how I stuck in there. I hit some amazing shots down the stretch. It feels incredible. It's been a long six months, I feel, since I won in Dubai. I've given myself tons of chances, and hopefully this win sort of breaks the seal for me, especially going into next week."

McIlroy finished at 15-under 265 and moved past Jon Rahm to No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

DP World Tour & PGA Tour - Barbasol Championship

Vincent Norrman lipped in an 8-footer for bogey on the 72nd hole to get into a playoff, then scrambled for par on the same hole in sudden death on Sunday to beat Nathan Kimsey and win the Barbasol Championship.Sweden's Vincent Norrman said he was proud of how he battled after defeating England's Nathan Kimsey with a par on the first play-off hole to win his first PGA Tour and DP World Tour victory at the Barbasol Championship.

In the play-off Norrman, who played one year at Florida State after four years at Division II Georgia Southwestern, again went left off the tee, while Kimsey found thick rough on the right, and the bunker with his second. As Kimsey failed to get up-and-down, Norrman managed to get up and down for his par, which was enough to win his first Tour title in his 23rd career start.

"I mean, it's been a crazy week and obviously today, the first nine was almost flawless," said Norrman. Yeah, how I finished the front nine I'm really proud of, then hung in there on the back. I'm happy to be sitting here. That's where I started back home in Sweden, to be on the putting green and dreaming of having the putt to win a PGA TOUR event. Now I'm here at 25 and it's amazing." Vincents Win moves him into the Top 200 in the Official World Golf Rankings for the first time of his career now ranked 164th.

Korn Ferry Tour - The Ascendant presented by Blue

Nicholas Lindheim is heading back to the PGA TOUR in style. Making his fifth and final start in preparation to return to the TOUR, where he will eventually play via a medical extension, Lindheim posted a bogey-free 6-under 66, one of four scores of 66 or better in Sunday’s final round at TPC Colorado, and closed out a two-stroke victory over runner-up Max Greyserman at The Ascendant presented by Blue.

Lindheim’s victory is his third on the Korn Ferry Tour, with previous wins coming at the 2016 Utah Championship presented by Zions Bank and 2017 DAP Championship. Sunday’s victory also marked the fifth PGA TOUR-sanctioned win for Lindheim, who also won twice on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica (wins in 2014 and 2015) while playing the Korn Ferry Tour.

“It’s satisfying to know I still have good golf ahead of me,” Lindheim said. “You do a lot of questioning in this game, even when you are at the top of your game. With that being said, I feel like I’ve still got some more gas in the tank.”

With a winning total of 20-under 268, Lindheim shattered the 72-hole tournament scoring record of 17-under 271 established by last year’s winner, Zecheng Dou. En route to a career-high runner-up finish and total score of 18-under 270, Greyserman also beat the previous 72-hole tournament scoring record. He moves into the Top 200 in the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time in his career now ranked 196th.

Challenge Tour - Euram Bank Open

Casey Jarvis held his nerve on the final day of the Euram Bank Open at Golf Club Adamstal to secure a memorable maiden Challenge Tour victory. The South African took a five stroke lead into the final round, and despite a late charge from Scotland’s Euan Walker, Jarvis kept his composure to par the final hole and secure a one shot victory with a one under par round of 69 to add to rounds of 65-63-65 earlier in the week.

The 19-year-old, who has registered three second place finishes already on the 2023 Road to Mallorca, was delighted to get over the line. He now moves to his best ranking held in the Official World Golf Ranking now ranked inside the Top 250 at 237th.

“I haven't felt this good in a long time walking off a golf course,” he said. “I didn't think winning would be this special. It's an unbelievable feeling.

“I had those second-place finishes in the back of my mind pretty much the whole day so I didn't want it to happen again, and luckily I got it done.

PGA Tour Canada - Quebec Open powered by Videotron Business

Three weeks ago Davis Lamb had to fight his way into the field. Now, he’s ranked inside the Top 600 in the Official World Golf Ranking after winning back-to-back events on PGA TOUR Canada, he’s one win away from automatic membership on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Lamb handled the bad weather that temporarily beset Golf Château Bromont on Sunday to shoot a 7-under 63 and win the Québec Open powered by Videotron Business. Lamb finished at 22-under 258, one shot ahead of David Kim, who fired a closing round of 62.

It’s been only two weeks since Lamb became the first Monday qualifier to win a PGA TOUR Canada event, which earned him exempt status for the rest of the season. This week, after the TOUR took a week off, he became the first back-to-back winner since Tyler McCumber in 2018. A third win this season means an instant promotion to the Korn Ferry Tour.

“I’ve just been trusting my game,” Lamb said. “I think both these courses (where he’s won) have suited me very well. It’s a premium hitting the fairway and controlling my spin into the greens. I didn’t overcomplicate things. I kind of took advantage when I had the opportunity and just made pars when I had to.”

Asian Development Tour & All Thailand Golf Tour - Singha Pattaya Open

Thailand’s Pattaraphol Khanthacha posted a blistering eight-under-par 62 to secure victory on the final day of the Singha Pattaya Open, edging Wei-hsuan Wang (64) of Chinese Taipei by a single shot. It was an emotional win for Pattaraphol, who put his golf career on hold for three years to care for his ailing mother, and has only recently restarted his membership on the Asian Development Tour.

The win in Pattaya has secured his entry in all events for the remainder of the ADT season and Pattaraphol said after his round that he dedicated his win to his mother’s memory and would be pursuing his dream to gain full status on the Asian Tour.

“I just tried to keep the ball in the fairway today, and my putter was working well. The birdie on the last hole was the best part,” he said after his winning round in the THB4 million event, which was co-sanctioned by the Asian Development Tour and the All Thailand Golf Tour.

Alps Tour Golf - Fred Olsen Alps de La Gomera

Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero, 28 years old representing Golf Club Monticello, came from behind to vanquish his 1stprofessional win at the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera. He shot an impressive 9 under-par, 62 in today’s final round to conclude with a three-day total of 19 under-par. He had a great start to his final round with 6 birdies in his first 7 holes of the day. Rean Trinchero has captured good results so far this season including a 2nd place finish at the 2023 Gösser Open but was looking to breakthrough and conquer his 1st professional victory. He’s been playing professional golf since 2020 and prior to his win, he was 16th in this season’s Alps Tour Order of Merit rank.

After his win, Rean Trinchero’s first reactions were, “I began really well today. I played really well the front nine then I saw that I had a few shot margins between me and the player in 2nd place so I then tried to play less aggressively that’s why I made only 2 birdies on the back nine. I played extremely well and it makes it even more special and I’m very happy.”

When asked about what it means to him to have captured his 1stprofessional win and became a 1st time winner on the Alps Tour, he added, “this win means a lot to me. I feel like I’ve been playing well and was 16th in the order of merit and needed to capture a win to try and be in the top 5 spots so it means a lot in this particular moment of the season. More importantly I’ve regained a good level of confidence in my game so I’m very happy about that also. I want to thank my parents, my coaches Giovanni Dassù and my putting coach Camilla Mazzola.”  Looking at the rest of the season, Rean Trinchero added that: “my season goals won’t change. I need another good finish in one of the next two events to be sure I can stay in the top 5 so another win would obviously be great but I’d be happy with a few good top 5 finishes.”

Big Easy Tour - Altron Big Easy Tour 2

Keegan Mclachlan announced on Wednesday that his only intention going in the final round of the Altron Big Easy Tour tournament at Reading Country Club is to win the event and he stayed true to his word when he claimed a 10-stroke win on Thursday.

Mclachlan, 24, carded a final-round 65 for a tournament total of 15-under-par 198, 10 shots clear of the chasing quartet of Philip Geerts, England’s Harry Konig, Rigardt Albertse and Therion Nel.

Taking a two-shot lead into the final round thanks to rounds of 66 and 67, Mclachlan made light work of this parklands layout. He was two-under through his first four holes, having birdied the third and fourth holes to create some distance between himself and the chasing field. He made further gains on six and eight and after the turn, the Silver Lakes Golf Club player dropped his first shot of the day.

Mclachlan immediately shrugged that bogey off, however, and birdied the 11th before making an eagle on the only par-five hole on the homeward stretch; the 12th hole. He was not done yet as he fired in another birdie on 14. His second drop of the day came on the 16th hole but it was of no consequence as he closed off with a brace of pars.

“To win, you have to have the belief that you can win,” said Mclachlan following his win. “In previous times when I have been in the same situation, I didn’t have the belief and I have learned from those experiences.
