Scottie Scheffler claims his fifth victory on the PGA Tour this season after winning the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday.

Scottie Sheffler further solidifies his place as the World Number One as winning has become a habit, except there was nothing typical about his victory Sunday at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday. He made only one birdie. He closed with a 2-over 74, his highest final round in two years.

PGA Tour - the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday

Scottie Sheffler further solidifies his place as the World Number One as winning has become a habit, except there was nothing typical about his victory Sunday at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday. He made only one birdie. He closed with a 2-over 74, his highest final round in two years. And victory wasn’t assured until Scheffler had the mettle to put a firm stroke on a downhill putt from 5 feet above the hole to take out the break.

It went right in the heart for a one-shot victory over Collin Morikawa, and a handshake with tournament host Jack Nicklaus. Their exchange said it all. Scheffler endured more stress than he wanted and got the victory everyone has come to expect, his fifth of the season — one week into June — as he heads for another tough test next week in the U.S. Open.

Muirfield Village was so demanding with its ultra-firm greens and swirling gusts throughout the afternoon that only six players broke par and the average score was a fraction under 75. Scheffler, who started four shots ahead, never lost the lead. He never felt safe, either, not with Morikawa and Adam Hadwin on his heels all afternoon, and on a back nine where making par felt like hard work. Par is what it took on the 18th hole.

“This is a tough place to close out,” Scheffler said. “I didn’t do a whole lot great today, but I did enough.”

DP World Tour - Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed

Linn Grant made yet more history as she won the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed for the second time, chasing down overnight leader Sebastian Söderberg courtesy of a flawless final-round 65 in her hometown of Helsingborg. Grant, who became the first female winner in DP World Tour history at this event two years ago, started the day 11 shots behind runaway 54-hole leader Söderberg.

But as he slipped backwards throughout the afternoon, Grant made seven birdies and no bogeys to set the clubhouse target at 17 under. And with her countryman Söderberg finishing his final-round 77 with a double bogey at the 18th to miss out on a play-off, Grant earned her second DP World Tour title in dramatic circumstances, winning by a single shot.

Söderberg finished in joint-second alongside Scotland's Calum Hill on 16 under, with Swedish Ladies European Tour star Johanna Gustavsson three shots further back in a tie for fourth with Englishmen Alex Fitzpatrick and Andy Sullivan. Due to Linn Grant playing off shorter tees then the men the Official World Golf Ranking points are shared amongst Callum Hill and Söderberg as they both finished T2nd on 16 under.

Korn Ferry Tour - BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX

Ryan Gerard lapped the field at the 2024 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX, doubling his three-stroke 54-hole lead on the back nine of Thornblade Club en route to a six-stroke victory Sunday evening.

Gerard played his final 46 holes without a bogey, totalling 26-under 259 to tie Mark Anderson (2013) for the third-lowest 72-hole score in tournament history, only behind Mito Pereira’s 258 from 2021, and Michael Arnaud’s 257 from 2018. It also marked the second-lowest winning 72-hole score this season, trailing Tim Widing’s 31-under 253 from the Veritex Bank Championship.

Gerard finished six strokes ahead of runner-up Seth Reeves, marking the second-highest margin of victory this season. Only Isaiah Salinda’s eight-stroke victory at The Panama Championship was more decisive.

“I didn’t really know how many shots I had until No. 17 green,” Gerard said of his lead. “When I saw that, I figured I could get it in the house from there. It was cool to go bogey-free on the weekend.”

Japan Golf Tour - BMW Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori Building Cup

Hiroshi Iwata created history at the BMW Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori Building Cup by becoming the oldest winner in the tournament after securing a playoff victory over Ryo Ishikawa on Sunday. This victory was Iwata's sixth on the Tour, but it was his first in a major tournament which he achieved at the age of 43.

Iwata sealed the win by parring the first extra hole at Shishido Hills Country Club. Earlier, he navigated through a tense final round, shooting a 68 to tie with Ishikawa at 13-under-par 271 after regulation play. Ishikawa, who began the final round five shots behind, staged a remarkable comeback with an eagle and eight birdies, countering two bogeys for a stunning 63.

Tension mounted as Iwata's round was marred by bogeys on the 14th and 17th holes, opening the door for Ishikawa, who was vying for his 19th JGTO title. Yet, in the tiebreaker at the 18th hole, it was Iwata who held his nerve to save a par from about one meter, while Ishikawa's challenge faltered with a bogey.

Iwata, a 21-year professional, said the playoff win against the more fancied Ishikawa was an emotional one. After all, he had never succeeded in two of his previous playoffs, losing to Toyokazu Fujishima at the 2008 Fujisankei Classic and Hideki Matsuyama at the 2014 Dunlop Phoenix Tournament.

"It was Ryo against me, and I thought most of the cheers were for Ryo. But when I went for the tee shot, I heard 'Go, Iwata!', I almost broke into tears, I've never won a playoff in my golf career but somehow I was able to relax."

Challenge Tour - Challenge de Cadiz

Jonathan Gøth-Rasmussen held his nerve to secure victory at the Challenge de Cádiz and join his father in the Challenge Tour winner’s circle. The Dane posted a three-under-par round of 69 to reach 15 under for the week and claim a one-shot win over Irishman Gary Hurley on a dramatic final day at Iberostar Real Golf Novo Sancti Petri.

The 2016 Junior Ryder Cup player made a slow start to the final day with a bogey at the first but bounced back with three birdies to make the turn at two under par. He made another gain at the 11th hole before parring his way to a maiden Challenge Tour victory in Cádiz.

The 26-year-old is the son of former Challenge Tour winner Jacob Rasmussen, who won the Torneo RCG de Sevilla in 1993, and he was delighted to triumph in the same country as his father.

“It feels amazing right now. It’s been a long day and I was very nervous out there so I am relieved to get the job done. I felt the pressure on the last three holes because they were very tough and the greens are firm.

“I was aggressive off of the tee all day but I still had to rely on my short game to get me out of trouble on a few occasions.

“I saw Gary Hurley was going low and I was kept updated which increased the pressure. I was sweating right up until I saw that final putt drop and it was very exciting. I’m proud to get my first victory on the Challenge Tour.

Sunshine Tour - SunBet Challenge hosted by Sun City

Jacques Blaauw made par at the first playoff hole to win the SunBet Challenge hosted by Sun City at the Gary Player Country Club on Friday, with the 38-year-old breaking an eight-year win drought and doing it at one of his favourite courses.

It all led to an emotional celebration by Blaauw as he admitted to being “like a madman, going crazy on the phone” with his wife and father shortly after the trophy presentation.

“It’s been a while since my last win – 2016 – but I’ve been playing very well the last two months and I was thinking the win was coming,” Blaauw said, following up his four rounds in the sixties to finish third in the KitKat Cash & Carry Pro-Am a fortnight ago with rounds of 71-71-69 for five-under-par at Gary Player Country Club.

“And I played really well today, besides my finish in regulation play when I bogeyed the 15th and 18th holes. But the wind made conditions really tough today and those last holes were playing difficult.

“I’ve been putting very well recently and my approach play today was much closer than I’m used to, which gave me more chances for birdies. A lot of hard work has gone into this, especially with my driving, which I’ve struggled with lately. But I worked on it yesterday and changed my settings.

“This game keeps you humble, there are more ups and downs. It’s funny, but what I consider to be my first professional win came at the Gary Player Country Club, one of the best courses in the country, when I won the Klipdrift Touring Pro-Am back in 2010/11. I’ve waited so long now for this win, so I was like a madman, going crazy on the phone when I spoke to my wife and dad,” Blaauw said.

Nordic Golf League - Samsø Classic Pro-Am - by Samsø Festival

Samsø Classic Pro-Am by Samsø Festival: Dramatic Finish and Danish Dominance. Throughout the week, there has been a strong Danish performance on Samsø, and the final round of the Samsø Classic Pro-Am by Samsø Festival was no exception. Morten Toft Hansen entered the final round with a one-stroke lead over fellow Dane Alexander Frances. After an impressive front nine, Toft Hansen extended his lead to four strokes, but the back nine turned out to be much more thrilling than anyone could have predicted.

Alexander Frances had a rough start to the final round, being two over par after the first three holes. It didn't seem like he could pose a threat for the win. However, remarkably, he managed six birdies and an eagle over the next 14 holes, bringing his total score to -19 and taking the lead. At the same time, Toft Hansen fell back with a bogey on the 17th hole, while Jens Kristian Thysted, who shot the best round of the day with a 65 (-7), entered the fray.

In a day full of surprises, the 18th hole proved to be particularly unpredictable. Frances hit out of bounds twice over the green from the fairway and had to record an 8 on the par-4 hole. This dropped him to third place at -15, and with both Thysted and Toft Hansen making pars, the stage was set for a playoff.

After a par on the first playoff hole, Thysted could call himself the winner of the Samsø Classic Pro-Am by Samsø Festival. This victory marks the Smørum player's second win of the season, securing his third place in the rankings and widening the gap to his pursuers.

ProGolf Tour - Royal Homburger Open

Robert Foley (-13) wins the Royal Homburger Open 2024 and thus his second title on the Pro Golf Tour. The Swiss player prevailed over Owen Edwards (Wales) in a thrilling play-off final. Third place at the Royal Homburger GC is shared by local hero Martin Obtmeier and Frenchman Clement Charmasson (-12). “I just wanted to enjoy every shot” - Robert Foley went into the final round of the Royal Homburg Open 2024 with a special goal. “Today I decided to go out and just have fun,” said the Swiss player with Irish parents. Foley felt no pressure in the decisive phase despite a long title drought. “I've never been as relaxed in a play-off as I was this time.” An attitude that had a positive effect on his result. The 27-year-old recorded the birdie on the first extra hole, won the play-off against Welshman Owen Edwards and was delighted with his first title on the Pro Golf Tour since the Raiffeisen Pro Golf Tour St. Pölten 2021.

Foley's rise was meteoric. He stepped onto the Pro Golf Tour stage for the first time in 2021. Thanks in part to his victory in Austria, he was promoted directly to the Challenge Tour. “Everything was going in the right direction. The year felt easy,” says Foley, who has only been playing golf intensively since the age of 16. But this was followed by two “very tough” years as a professional. “The hard work didn't pay off.” The man from Lausanne often let his own expectations get in the way. “I believe very strongly in my abilities and it's simply about managing expectations. You must be able to reflect well to do that.” Things are now heading in the right direction again this year. Even before the victory at the Royal Homburger GC, Foley had finished in the top ten three times this season.
