PGA Tour - Texas Children's Houston Open
Jaeger reached into his bag Sunday morning, as part of a five-way co-lead at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, and pulled out the ball marker for his “Papa Klaus.” It made him smile. It was an extra push to play hard for his dad – who helped introduce him to the game in Germany as an elementary schooler, riding in the cart as his parents and sister played – against a tightly packed leaderboard that included young phenoms Nick Dunlap and Akshay Bhatia, several pros seeking their first TOUR title, and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler – the oddsmakers’ overwhelming favorite into the final round at Memorial Park Golf Course.
Scheffler seemed inevitable as he eyed a third win in as many starts, looking to become the first TOUR player since 2017 to do so. After Jaeger two-putted for par on No. 18 Sunday for a final-round 67 and a 12-under 268 total, Scheffler had a 5-footer for birdie to force a playoff. Scheffler missed, and Jaeger earned his first TOUR title at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, one stroke clear of five players: Scheffler, Tony Finau, Alejandro Tosti, Taylor Moore and Thomas Detry.
Scheffler is nearly impossible to beat over a season-long race, Jaeger admitted earlier this week. But anything is possible over 72 holes on the PGA TOUR, especially for a seasoned competitor like Jaeger, a six-time Korn Ferry Tour winner who has focused on becoming a better person in recent years, on and off the golf course. That motivation was sparked in 2022 when his dad passed on March 11, and his son Fritz was conceived that same week. “You lose a life and you gain a life,” Jaeger said Sunday.
With his win in Houston, Jaeger’s career takes on a new life as well. He’s fully exempt on TOUR through 2026 and will compete in his first Masters next month. He’ll forever be known as a PGA TOUR winner.
“I couldn't have thought, dreamed up a better week to do it,” Jaeger said Sunday. “Obviously playing (with) Scottie last couple days, he's been on a tear, so to kind of slay the dragon a little bit this week was amazing. He's such a good dude, such a good player; I was just happy to play with him a couple days.”

DP World Tour & Professional Golf Tour of India - Hero Indian Open
Keita Nakajima won his first DP World Tour title in emphatic style as a closing 73 handed him a four-shot wire-to-wire win at the Hero Indian Open. The Japanese entered the final round with a four-shot advantage and that was extended to nine as he turned in 33 and threatened to blow the rest of the field away at DLF Golf & Country Club.
He could not quite maintain that incredible pace on the back nine but his 17 under par total gave him a comfortable victory over home favourite Veer Ahlawat, Swede Sebastian Söderberg and American Johannes Veerman. The win in just his 11th start moves Nakajima to 13th in the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex and to the top of the Asian Swing standings.
Nakajima becomes the fifth Japanese winner in DP World Tour history and his victory, the seventh by a Japanese player, comes as part of a remarkable purple patch for his nation on Tour. When Ryo Hisatsune won the Open de France in September just over 40 years after Isao Aoki had become the Tour's first winner from Japan, only Hideki Matsuyama's Masters Tournament win and two World Golf Championships triumphs had come in between.

Japan Golf Tour - Token Homemate Cup
Takumi Kanaya secured his sixth JGTO title by emerging victorious at the Token Homemate Cup for the second time on Sunday. The 25-year-old posted a final-round six-under-par 65 to conclude the tournament with a winning 72-hole record of 23-under 261, edging out second-placed Tatsunori Shogenji by two shots.
Kanaya had earlier put himself in the driver's seat in the morning at the 54-hole mark, birdieing four of his eight remaining holes to card a bogey-free third-round 64 to claim a one-shot lead over Taihei Sato. With his confidence soaring, Kanaya continued his impressive form, birdieing four times in his opening five holes to distance himself from the chasing pack.
He further solidified his lead by picking up another shot on the eighth hole before putting the result beyond doubt with two more birdies on the 14th and 17th. Although Kanaya eventually conceded a bogey, his first in 38 holes, it was still sufficient for him to reclaim the title he last won in 2021, finishing with a two-shot cushion.
"I made several changes to my swing during the offseason, and I’m really pleased it paid off this week. Looking ahead, I hope to maintain this consistency. My goal is to be in contention every week, and not just for one week.
“I hope to be able to compete on the DP World Tour soon. This win will set me up for this opportunity and I’m particularly focused on the next ISPS Handa Championship, which I hope to replicate my winning performance.
“It’s so good to see Keita Nakajima doing well in India this week and whatever result he achieves, it will be a great motivation for all of us,” said Kanaya.

PGA Tour Americas - Totalplay Championship at Atlas Country Club
José de Jesús Rodríguez won the Totalplay Championship at Atlas Country Club this weekend. Rodríguez carded bogeys on No. 3 and No. 7 but responded with four birdies in the final eleven holes to stave off his final round playing partners Joey Vrzich and Derek Hitchner to secure victory at the second event of the inaugural PGA TOUR Americas season.
Rodríguez took the 54-hole lead after a 4-under 67 in the third round and carried that momentum into the final round. After a bogey on No. 7, Rodríguez made birdie on three of the next four holes to re-take possession of the lead. A par on the final hole secured the victory for Rodriguez and held off a late charge by runner-up Jesus Montenegro.
This is the seventh career PGA TOUR-sanctioned win for Rodríguez on Latin American soil and his third straight at Atlas Country Club. In addition to his win at the Totalplay Championship at Atlas Country Club, the Irapuato, Mexico, native won the Jalisco Open GDL on the PGA TOUR Latinoamérica circuit in 2022 and 2023. Rodriguez’s win last year in Guadalajara secured him status on PGA TOUR Americas, as he ended the PGA TOUR Latinoamérica season 23rd in the Totalplay Cup standings.
Rodríguez's history at Atlas Country Club dates back to 2010 when he shot a 62 in a Mexican Tour event to set the course record. With the win, Rodríguez is now a fully exempt member on PGA TOUR Americas for the remainder of the 2024 season.
